Anglo American aims for perfection!

If you're after a vintage look with a modern twist then this is the brand for you!

Having perfected the art of frame-making, Anglo American have 120 years of experience. In the 1990's Anglo American tried to move the brand forward. The brand stays true to itself yet still has a modern feel which appeals to everyone.

Anglo American once boasted that 'with each frame being handled at least seventy-five times in forty-three operations, and being checked a minimum of fifteen times it may not be the cheapest way to make a frame but for Anglo American Eyewear it is the only way!' This shows you the time taken and the desire to bring you such high quality products and by just looking at the range in The BIG Optician you can see they have reached this goal.

The only thing Anglo American left us at The BIG Optician to do is to fit your frame so it is all round perfection!

Do you dare to be different?

Anglo American dared to be different in the 70's when they created basic shapes but in a larger size than was common at the time. That daring streak continues as they still deliver quirky and fun designs for us to enjoy.

Since launching a store on Park Avenue in New York, Anglo American have never looked back having worldwide success. They have been a trend-setter of the heavy brow bar on frames as well as using fashionable colours and shapes that we may never have dared to try!

This daring streak was something that the one and only Dame Edna Everage, played by Barrie Humphries, embraced. Whether it be butterfly shaped frames or using Humphries' own ideas of 'curls' and 'flames', Anglo American along with costume designer Stephen Adnitt provided 'face furniture' worth talking about!

Now with similar frames to Curvebar and Sirmont and some of which being worn by Johnny Depp and Michael Cain CBE, there is a frame for the more refined of us!
