Working at a computer can be tough for your eyes
On average, we blink 5 times less when looking at a computer screen. Blinking is the main way that the body protects and refreshes the eyes.
How many hours do you spend at a computer each day?

Do you suffer from any of these symptoms which can be associated with prolonged computer use?
- Dry and irritated eyes
- Eyestrain and/or tired eyes
- Blurred and/or variable vision
- Redness of the eyes
REMEMBER THE 20 - 20 - 20 RULE
When working at a computer, every 20 minutes look away and look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
This simple technique will help you relax your gaze and refresh your eyes, helping prevent some of the symptoms listed above and increase your comfort and well being at work.
Have an eye examination every two years (or more frequently if you experience any problems) especially if you work with computers. Employers have a legal responsibility to provide eye examinations every two years for all staff who use VDU.
